Simultaneous recovery of multiple components of deformations using temporal phase measurement interferometry(1)

The International Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics(SOPO 2014)——Phase measurement has generated much interest among researchers and during the last three decades several approaches have been proposed albeit using single piezoelectric devices incorporated in individual interferometers. A novel approach that has opened up new avenues is the use of estimation techniques to measure multiple phases simultaneously. This approach proceeds by simultaneously measuring dual phase steps imparted to the two piezoelectric devices integrated in an optical configuration involving four-beam interferometry. One of the important advantages of this approach is the opportunity that it provides of measuring simultaneously multiple components of deformations undergone by an object under load. This talk presents an overview of various estimation techniques based on spectral decomposition that have been proposed till now, and summarizes various aspects based on accuracy and data frames.
