Mass production of graphene applied in energy storage areas
2014中国国际石墨烯创新大会(Grap-China 2014)——Graphene has been dominant in the materials world and enjoyed significant recent attention in lithium ion batteries (LIBs) applications due to its unique properties such as quantum effects, specific surface area and high conductivity.In our work, by a pressurized oxidation-reduction process with phosphoric acid as oxygen aid, few-layers graphene were low-cost prepared in kilogram level. Then, adding to the LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 materials, graphene/LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 composites were synthesized by a solvothermal process. As the cathode of LIBs, graphene/LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 composites exhibited markedly improved rate performance, in comparison to LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 materials. The promising results demonstrated graphene with low-cost would be commercialized in LIBs applications.
