Tuning Ferro- to Para-electric Phase Transition of PVDF-based Ferroelectric Polymers(1)

第六届海内外中华青年材料科学技术研讨会(2015)——Poly(vinylidene fluoride) based fluoropolymers have attracted considerable interests for their excellent dielectric, ferroelectric, and paraelectric properties, which allow them to be applied widely as non-volatile memory devices, sensors, actuators, and energy generators. Besides of the great success achieved as piezoelectric materials, these ferroelectric polymers have also been modified chemically and physically to be utilized as electric-active materials and high energy density pulse capacitors for mechanical and electric energy change and energy storage applications. In current presentation, recent processes of how to tune the ferroelectric properties of PVDF based fluoropolymer by chemically and physically modification would be introduced. The typical ferroelectric PVDF based fluoropolymer could be turned into relaxor ferroelectrics, anti-ferroelectrics and even linear dielectrics by controlling the size, orientation and relaxation of ferroelectric phase.
