Enhancing electrical conductivity and strength in Al alloys by combination of deformation and ageing
第二届海峡两岸功能材料科技与产业峰会(2015)——A new strategy of micro-structural design for property enhancement is developed in Al alloy based on the modification of conventional thermo-mechanical routes. Excellent combination of high electrical conductivity and high mechanical strength as well as reasonable ductility can be obtained in the Al-Mg-Si-Cu alloy via subsequent ageing of cold rolled sample. Our results suggest by interrupting the artificial ageing with cold-deformation one can manipulate the solutes state for property optimization.
