Carbon-based Hybrid Materials for Superior Lithium Storage(1)

2014中国功能材料科技与产业高层论坛——Advanced power source is urgently needed to meet the continuously surging demand in consumer elec¬tronics and electric vehicles, which have regained interest recently in view of fast depletion of fossil fuels and associated environmental concerns and climate change. This boosts a great deal of interest in seeking for high-performance batteries that can store and deliver more electric energy efficiently. Lithium-secondary batteries are one of the prospective candidates in this regard because of the inherently high energy density, low costs and environmental benignity. However, their commercialization is still largely hindered due to the lacking of the truly durable electrode materials with satisfactory high capacities and/or power densities.
