第三届国际神经再生高峰论坛(INRS2013)——Stem cells can model developmental programs and disease processes. Repair likely involves re-invoking developmental programs/processes, particularly those that underlie plasticity & adaptation. Better to work in concert with these stem cell programs than at cross-purposes to them. Disease & injuries that can be addressed by molecular therapies or cell protection may be the "low hanging fruit" for stem cell-mediated interventions.
